UPDATE: Carson City Sheriff’s Deputies were notified of a dispute involving a motorist and a group of protesters at the Capital Complex. A protester alleged that a firearm was pointed at them by a passing motorist, according to a CCSO news release.
All parties to the events, including the motorist, have been identified and an investigation is underway. There is no ongoing threat to the public and no other people of interest are being sought, the release states.

Hundreds of protestors gathered at the Capitol complex today as part of a nationwide day of protest against President Donald Trump’s recent executive orders, discrimination against transgender individuals, threats of mass deportation, and Elon Musk’s ability to access the US Treasury and private government data.
The gathering is part of a nationwide day of protest dubbed 50501 which stands for 50 capitols in 50 states on 1 day: February 5. Planning for the protests were largely organized by grassroots groups online through sites like Reddit.
