The Carson City Sheriff’s Office said a motorist is under investigation after protestors alleged the individual pointed a gun at them during Wednesday’s protest at the Capitol Complex.
According to the press release, at 2:07 PM, deputies were notified of a dispute involving a motorist and a group of protesters at the Capitol Complex.
While protesting, an individual told deputies a motorist had pointed a gun at them as the car passed by.
In many cases, pointing a gun at someone in a threatening manner is considered assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, regardless of if the weapon is loaded.
Deputies said “all parties to the events, including the motorist, have been identified and an investigation is underway. There is no ongoing threat to the public and no other people of interest are being sought.”
