
Casinos in Carson City and Carson Valley saw a decrease in gaming generated revenue in December, the peak of the holiday season, however, statewide gambling profit was up nearly 6 percent, according to figures released Thursday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Casinos in Carson City, Gardnerville, Minden and other areas of Douglas County excluding south shore Lake Tahoe, collected $9,319,949 in “gaming win” in December, down 1.92 percent over the same time in 2018. Meanwhile, Stateline casinos at Tahoe saw gaming revenue increases by 8.10 percent, or $18,169,196.
Elsewhere, gaming revenue in Reno was down 2.77 percent, while “gaming win” at Sparks casinos was up 2.05 percent.
Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $1,057,602,710 for the month of December 2019. This amounts to a 5.79 percent increase compared to December 2018, when licensees reported a gaming win of $999,678,537.
