Gaming revenue at Carson City area casinos climbed 2.56 percent in December compared to the last month of 2013 while the statewide numbers were down 8 percent, according to figures released Friday from the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Carson City area casinos, which include those in Minden, Gardnerville and other areas in Douglas County except for south shore Lake Tahoe, took in gaming revenues, also known as “win” of $7,914,899 in December.

Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $950,692,054 for the month of December 2014. This amounts to an 8.06 percent decrease compared to December 2013. For the fiscal year (July 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014), gaming win has decreased 3.65%.

Elsewhere, casinos at Stateline, south shore Lake Tahoe were up 1.05 percent and Reno 10.44 percent.
