Mayita Sanchez.

Mayita Sanchez announced today that she is running for the Carson City Board of Supervisors, Ward 3, with a campaign focused on thoughtful, transparent local decision-making grounded in the realities of everyday life.

“I’m running as a neighbor who wants Carson City to grow in a way that works for the people who call it home,” Sanchez said. “Local government decisions about housing, zoning, and development shape how neighborhoods function and whether people feel included in the process.”

Sanchez brings more than a decade of experience working inside public systems, having served under the Sandoval, Sisolak, and Lombardo administrations. Her work has supported education, workforce development, and community investment efforts that required collaboration across agencies, sectors, and political lines.

“That experience showed me how policy and planning decisions eventually land in people’s daily lives,” Sanchez said. “When systems lack clarity or context, families, small businesses, and entire neighborhoods feel the impact.”

Sanchez is the founder and principal consultant of Frontier Solutions, LLC, a Nevada-based small business that helps nonprofits and local governments navigate public processes, access funding, and turn plans into implementable projects. She also serves on the board of Opportunity Alliance Nevada and is Vice Chair of the governing board for Somerset Academy of Carson City.

She holds a Master of Public Administration and is completing her doctorate focused on policy, collaboration, and public outcomes.

Her campaign will prioritize land use and zoning decisions, responsible growth, fiscal stewardship, and transparency, with particular attention to how those choices affect Ward 3.

“Walking my ward, I see neighborhoods shaped by past planning decisions with limited small businesses and few places for people to gather,” Sanchez said. “Local government has both the power and responsibility to do better.”

The Carson City Board of Supervisors election will take place in June 2026.
