Carson City Photo Club winning photo for January is "Leland's Golden Eye" by Belinda Nemeth.

With the January 2026 theme “macro,” local photographers took to Mother Nature and found some tight, closeup pics for this month’s Carson City Photo Club competition.

The winning photos are:

First Place: “Leland’s Golden Eye” Belinda Nemeth (See photo above.)

Trent Pitsenbarger’s photo “Golden Harvest” took second place.

“Sunflower” by Carol Grenier was the third place winner.

“Gecko” by Shelly Benge was this month’s Winner’s Choice.

The theme for February is “Old Buildings.” Become a member for only $15 per year and submit your 8×10 matted photo, taken within the last year, in the competition. Go here for more information.

The Carson City Photo Club meets at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month (no meeting in December) at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Ormsby Room. Those who want to join the meeting should use the west entrance. All levels of photographers are welcome.
