The Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada facility at 1870 Russell Way in Carson City will be closed Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, due to an electrical issue.

According to Diane McCoy, director of operations, there is an overall issue with the power that may not be resolved until Monday afternoon at the latest. The Boys and Girls Club was anticipating around 200 or more children tomorrow for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

The Carson City School District was to do a robocall informing parents of the situation. Staff has been notified and there will be a person in front of the building Monday to inform parents of the situation.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience,” said McCoy. “We will keep everyone up to date and will let them know if we will be closed Tuesday as well. We hope to have this resolved by tomorrow.”
