The dangers of youth vaping and how to address the issue with children and teens will be the focus of Thursday’s parent engagement night at Carson Middle School in Carson City.

The Jan. 16 meeting, which will be in Spanish, is hosted by Carson City Juvenile Services in partnership with Carson City Health and Human Services. It is from 6 to 7 p.m. at Carson Middle School, located at 1140 W King Street Carson City.

Carson City Health and Human Services, Juvenile Services and Carson Middle School officials will discuss issues surrounding e-cigarettes and vaping products, the extent of the youth vaping epidemic, short-term and long-term effects of vaping, as well as provide parents with resources about tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes.
