There appears to be a reoccurring rumor that Geiger Grade is or has closed, partially due to a mudslide. This is not true. Geiger Grade is open and has been throughout the entire flood and current snow incidents, Storey County officials confirm.
Currently there is a conditions related event with Chains or Snow Tires Required on Geiger Grade per the NDOT.
Also not true was a rumor spread on Facebook about the Historic Fourth Ward School on fire. Storey County officials confirmed minutes after the rumor spread this was not true.
