Land slated for the Carson City Center/Nugget Project has been transfered from the ownership of Carson Nugget Inc. to the Mae B. Adams Trust, in preparation for a decision on the project by the Carson City Board of Supervisors.
It seems from this report that the ownership change was done to separate the property from the Nugget casino and it gaming license. According to the project plans presented so far, the next move would involve transferring the land to the Hop & Mae Adams Foundation, which would lease the land to the city for the public portion of the project, and to P3 Development for the private portion.
It seems there is some confidence on the part of Nugget President Steve Neighbors what this project will move forward. I also get that same sense from my discussions with city officials, that this is a viable project that will be approved. City Manager Larry Werner said that he hoped to present a full plan to the board this month.
