Carson High’s football season ends with 14-7 loss to Galena
Although the Carson Senators beat Galena by 31 points earlier in the season, Galena came out on top Friday night as they beat the Senators 14-7 in overtime. It ended the Senator’s Cinderalla comeback trail that amazed the league and restored pride in Senator football this season.
Galena scored on the third play of overtime and then turned around and stopped Carson on the five yard line to win in overtime. Senator Coach Roman Blair said both teams played excellent games but that Galena finally put together their considerable talent in winning form, and pulled off the win for the Northern 4A regional semifinals.
It was Carson’s best season in a long, long time, finishing the season 9 and 3. Certainly one of their best ever. With Coach Roman’s proven abilities to motivate and discipline the team, next year’s football season could be just as exciting.
Congratulations all around!
