CHS baseball preview
With only four seniors and seven sophomores on this year's squad, it would be understandable if the Carson High baseball team had much lower expectations than usual for the upcoming season.
Second-year coach Cody Farnworth will have none of it. Despite being hit hard by graduation, Farnworth's expectations are as high as ever for his program.
"That's out the window," said Farnworth about it being OK if his team struggles because its young. "There's no excuses. I've been real impressed with their work ethic."
Farnworth notes that his team actually has more depth in pitching this year than it did last season. Carson had two outstanding starting pitchers in Matt Rutledge and David Charles last season, but the Senators never really did find a consistent No. 3 starter and that really ended up costing them at the end of the year.
