Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of holiday events around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Silver and Snowflake Festival of Lights, the 24th annual Parade of Lights in Gardnerville, the annual Project Empty Bowls dinner held at the Carson Mall, a Holiday Crawl in downtown Carson City and much more! Events include the 31st season of the Nutcracker Ballet, a Feast with a Hero fundraiser at Slot World, Small Business Saturday throughout Carson City and Carson Valley, photos with Santa, a Telegraph Square sign dedication, Polar Express train rides at the V&T Railroad and more!

Happy Saturday, Carson City! Are you feeling in the holiday spirit yet? Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and soon after it will be the season of jingle bells, red fur hats, ugly sweaters and snow!

Heading into the weekend before Thanksgiving, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the 25th annual Carson High School Holiday Craft Fair, a “War of the Worlds” play at the Brewery Arts Center, a Chili Bingo Night fundraiser to benefit the Carson Middle School Band, laughs at the Carson Nugget and much more.

During the cold winter months in a pocket of the capital city, a bit of magic is sprinkled about on the historic rail that once transported gold from Virginia City to the mint in Carson City, but now transports elves, hot cocoa, and silver bells for a few special weeks each year.

The Polar Express rolled into town on Nov. 15 with the help of the historic V&T Railway Commission, and with it, a certain jolly old man and his magical helpers.

Events include Polar Express train rides, Touched By Angels hosts a garden craft show on Saturday, a night photo shoot at the Nevada State museum, Rob Sherwood headlines the Carson Comedy Club at the Carson Nugget, 'Matilda the Musical' and more!

CARSON CITY — V&T Railway will begin service to the North Pole onboard the Polar Express train beginning Friday, Nov. 15. The magical story comes to life when the train departs the Eastgate Depot for an hour-long, round-trip journey to the North Pole.

Good day Carson City, we hope you are enjoying your Nevada Day weekend. It is Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019. Events around the capital city area include a post Nevada Day Trash Mob cleanup, a morning bike ride, Pow Wow activities at the MAC, the RSVP carnival at Mills Park as well as as tours of the Wungnema House, also in the park, Thomas the Train activities Virginia City and more. Activities include the annual parade down Carson Street, a carnival at Mills Park, the 30th annual Nevada Day Classic, The La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow at the MAC, beard and rock drilling contests, delicious food dishes, pancakes, chili and plenty of beverages to suit kids and adults of all ages.

The Silver State celebrates its birthday this week in Carson City and will put on a statehood celebration like no other as Nevada Day comes into full swing, featuring the annual parade down Carson Street on Saturday, a carnival at Mills Park, The La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow at the MAC, activities for adults and kids, contests, delicious food dishes, pancakes, chili and plenty of beverages to suit every wild hair.

The Nevada State Museum in Carson City continues it series of Mint150 programs on Saturday with tours of the Mint building, a lecture on collecting Carson City memorabilia and a demonstration of historic Coin Press No. 1.

The Mint150 programs, the third Saturday of each month, are all up to the sesquicentennial of the U.S. Branch Mint in February 2020. The Nevada State Museum is housed in the former U.S. Mint building.

It's that spooky time again, when the leaves begin to fall, Nevada Day is gearing up to bring us the best parade in the state, and our little ghouls and goblins are putting together their terrifying and adorable costumes in preparation for sugary chaos.

Saturday, October 12

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the final V&T Railway train rides of the 2019 season, the 27th annual Carson City Pumpkin Patch at Seeliger Elementary School, fundraisers around town, coin press demonstrations at the Nevada State Museum, comedy at the Carson Nugget and more!

CARSON CITY — V&T Railway will bring its event-filled 2019 season to a close this weekend with a final 150th Anniversary train on Friday, Oct. 11, vintage steam trains on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 and a Toast of the Canyon spirits train on Saturday, Oct. 12 following the steam train.

Happy Saturday, Carson City! We're going to have a warm day in the low 70s, so be sure to throw on your t-shirts which may be the last time this fall (barring the typical end of November inexplicable heat wave).

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the 30th annual Outhouse Races in Virginia City, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event in Carson City, Fright Night at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, Oktoberfest at the Casino Fandango, the 26th annual 'Making a Difference' Golf Tournament and much more!

Sunny skies ahead as we edge closer to the weekend with activities lined up for Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 around Carson City including modern western square dancing lessons, an afternoon hike led by Muscle Powered along the Virginia and Truckee north trail, art showings, library activities and more. Enjoy the day.

The 2019 Polar Express is inviting a limited number of Carson City area youth groups and organizations in the community to be a part of The Polar Express experience by portraying elves at the North Pole each year. For every night the group provides the required amount of elves, chaperones and works all three trains we will donate $100 to the groups for every night they perform.

After much anticipation, Tuesday marks the opening of America’s 51st My Place Hotel located in Carson City, Nev. The opening of the capital city's newest hotel also marks the second My Place Hotel to open in the Silver State.
