The State of the City address is a way community members can be kept up to date on everything going on in our capital city, including achievements, challenges, and everything in between.
Updates included achievements such as the completion of the water pipeline from Douglas County to Carson City, the Complete Streets Project, Tesla’s grant for the Carson City School District, the first new park opening in 12 years, the opening of the Disc Golf course, and more.
Chinese New Year, Carson Comedy Club's military appreciation night, live music and more: Carson City region readies for weekend

Events include a Chinese New Year Celebration at the Nevada State Museum and the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada. The Carson Comedy Club hosts its first Military Appreciation Night on Friday at the Carson Nugget. Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range to close for construction beginning Jan. 27

For safety reasons, all shooting activities, including reservations and public use, are canceled during construction. The construction schedule is anticipated to last approximately 10 weeks, although it will be contingent on weather conditions.
One dead after officer-involved shooting Thursday in Yerington

Nevada men’s, women’s basketball split Utah State games

Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range Closed January 3-17 for Maintenance

Lead reclamation is an important environmental best practice for outdoor shooting ranges and is recommended by the National Rifle Association and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Carson City supervisors OK more than $800K in Rifle Range funding, could reopen 6 days a week

The female who was hiding is safe and was not injured in the incident, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

These individuals have a severe and profound physical and neurological disability, cannot care for themselves, need full-time assistance, and are some of the kindest human beings in the world, many of whom are students in the Carson City School District and at CHS. Each year, students in the CHS Comprehensive Life Skills program make crafts to sell at the annual CHS Craft Fair and give as gifts.

El Dorado County sheriff's deputy shot and killed in line of duty, two suspects in custody

Deputy Brian Ishmael, a four-year veteran of the department, died as a result of the shooting. Two people are in custody.

Carson City Rifle and Pistol Club discusses the city ending use agreement for Rifle Range

The "use agreement" between the city and the Carson Rifle and Pistol Club will expire on October 18th and the city has declined to renew it. Consequently, the club will no longer provide Range Safety Officers or assist in operating the range as of this Friday.
