Here are the winners of the Nevada Day 2020 beard contest held Saturday at Red's Old 395 Grill in Carson City.

The Nevada Day Beard Contest kicked off at 10 a.m. today at Red's Old 395 Grill in Carson City, bringing the hairiest from around the state to compete for the honor of claiming the best beard in a myriad of categories.

Heading into the final weekend of October, Halloween and Nevada Day events will keep revelers busy through Sunday making for a jam packed weekend of fun for families and grownups around the Carson City region.

Here is a partial list of local restaurants that are offering take out and/or delivery during the COVID-19 shutdown. We will be adding more soon. Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities over the next three days. Restaurants in Carson City will host Valentine’s Day specials on Friday. The Carson City Celtic Music series will be at the Brewery Arts Center on Saturday featuring Fortunate Strangers. Combined with live music and comedy at the Carson Nugget, the Carson City region is in store for a busy three days. Read on for more information.

We’ve got a bunch of great events in the region through the weekend, so check below!

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region over the next three days. Dozens of sweets are in store for Saturday. The American Association of University Women holds its 20th annual Feast of Chocolate at the Carson Plaza and Event Center. Artsy Fartsy Gallery hosts its 9th annual Jewelry and Chocolate Show with several new decorative pieces. To cap-off Saturday, the legendary Cab Calloway Orchestra makes its way to the capital city.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, we can expect sunshine and a gradual warmup. Midweek events around town include art showings, yoga and meditation classes, Salsa dancing at Yaple's Ballroom, country and pop dancing at Carson Lanes, a safety workshop for women and more.

The public is invited to attend the 20th annual Feast of Chocolate Event hosted by the American Association of University Women on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Carson Plaza and Event Center, 211 E. 9th Street, Carson City.

Heading into Thursday, activities lined up include a cardio and strength connection class offered through Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness, a Polka Dot Powerhouse Women's Group luncheon at Red's Old 395 Grill, art showings, live music with Dale Poune at Gather, a meeting of the Carson City GOP at Casino Fandango featuring speaker Bob Potts from the Governor's Office of Economic Development, and more.

Join the Polka Dot Powerhouse Women's Group on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Red's Old 395 Grill in Carson City for a presentation on healthy money management and more.

With October designated Breast Cancer Awareness Month, dozens joined Carson Tahoe Health for its 18th "Think Pink" breast cancer awareness event held Tuesday at Red's Old 395 Grill in Carson City, which hosts and sponsors the annual event.

Heading into Wednesday, Oct. 2 events lined up include Coffee with a Cop at Comma Coffee, Walk and Bike to School Day, a public meeting to discuss stormwater rates, art workshops and showings, a Bee City USA meeting at Greenhouse Garden Center, the first gathering of Women Seeking Safety classes at the Salvation Army, family story time at the library, presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren at the Carson City MAC, Salsa dancing and more.

Lt. Governor Kate Marshall will speak at the Douglas, Carson City Legal Professionals monthly meeting on October 2 at 11:45 a.m. The meeting will be held at Red's Old 395 Grill at 1055 S Carson St, Carson City. Heading into the first day of October 2019, events around the capital city include a morning walk, evening hike and a bike ride with Muscle Powered, a historic talk about Frank Sinatra's gaming license at Lake Tahoe, a "Think Pink" breast cancer awareness event at Red's Old 395 Grill, a showing of the film classic "Charade" at the Brewery Arts Center and more.

Carson Tahoe Health will celebrate its 18th annual Think Pink kick-off for breast cancer awareness on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Red’s Old 395 Grill in Carson City will once again host the event.

The event is free to attend and individuals wearing a Carson Tahoe Think Pink T-shirt, the current one or from any year, will receive free appetizers courtesy of Red’s.

Coming up on Thursday, August 22, 2019, we can expect continued sunny skies with a daytime near 90. Among upcoming events: Thursday is the final day of the Jukebox International Film Festival at the Carson City Community Center. Take in a film screening and talk to the filmmakers who made them. There's a Polka Dot Powerhouse Carson City lunch connect at Red's Old 395 Grill, plus Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park and a volunteer expo hosted by Leadership Douglas County. There's also a discussion about aviation history and trends at the Nevada State Museum, a Carson City GOP information meeting on Block Chain technology, Jazz and Beyond music festival events and more. There will be a "Celebration of the Life and Times of Donna Curtis" on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the dog park at Fuji Park in Carson City. Curtis died Nov. 1, 2018.

In 2013, Donna Curtis spearheaded the purchase of a memorial bench on behalf of Carson City Democratic Women in the new off-leash dog park at the west end of Fuji Park.
