Man booked on felony charges after leading deputies on chase, claims he's escaped police three times before

After leading deputies from multiple agencies on a chase through Carson City and into Washoe Valley Friday evening, a 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested at gun point after crashing a vehicle and running across the I-580 on foot.

What began as an attempt to serve a felony warrant out of Sacramento led to a high-speed police chase involving multiple jurisdictions Friday night, culminating in a single vehicle crash on Old 395 near the I-580 exit.

Just after 5 p.m. Carson City deputies attempted to pull over a silver 4-door Nissan SUV near Goni and Arrowhead, according to dispatch, in connection with a felony warrant out of Sacramento.

A 49-year-old Carson City woman and a 51-year-old Carson City man were arrested in the area of S. Carson Street and 6th Street for drug-related felony and misdemeanor crimes.

According to the report, Merie Mona Nowinski and David Lynn Hopper were arrested after Special Enforcement Team deputies were surveilling in the area of N. Carson Street.

Pair from Bakersfield, Calif. arrested for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine into Carson City

A pair from Bakersfield, Calif. were arrested in the 3800 block of S. Carson Street early Friday morning for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine, and prohibited people in possession of a gun, among other offenses.

Harvey Mahoney, 31, and Aimee Negre, 36, were arrested around 3:30 a.m. after deputies were walking through the parking lot of a local S. Carson Street casino when they made contact with the pair.

Carson City, Douglas County locals enlist in the United States Army

The Carson City Army Recruiting Station is proud to welcome two of our newest Future Soldiers, Alissa Lucas and Taylor Clark. Alissa Lucas is currently a Senior at Carson High School and a member of the Junior ROTC.

She chose to attend training to be Military Police and will leave after high school graduation. Taylor Clark is from Gardnerville and a 2019 graduate of Douglas High School. Evans Creek Fire southwest of Reno investigated as human caused, fire crews working on containment

CARSON CITY — The 25-acre Evans Creek Fire started Thursday around 2 a.m. and is located southwest of Reno on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest’s Carson Ranger District in Evans Canyon area approximately two miles from the Ballardini Ranch Trailhead. The fire was human-caused and under investigation by law enforcement.

Couple arrested in Carson City store parking lot for fighting over and shaking child

According to the police report, two teenagers were arrested in a store parking lot in the 1900 block of N. Carson Street for engaging in a physical altercation while a two-month-old infant between them.

A 19-year-old transient man and an 18-year-old transient woman were booked on child neglect/endangerment and domestic battery first after several concerned citizens called deputies to respond to a fight. The reporting parties stated there was a man and a woman physically fighting in the parking lot and pulling an infant from each other during the fight.
