Carson City man arrested on multiple felonies for possessing aerosol cans

An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday afternoon on the felony charges of possession a controlled substance and furnishing dangerous drugs to a minor, and a misdemeanor of violating pre-sentencing conditions, after being found with aerosol cans in a parking lot on Market Street.

The man who led authorities Monday on a chase in the South Lake Tahoe area and died as a result of an officer-involved shooting is the same person identified as the suspect in the Oct. 22 robbery of an east Carson City ice cream and frozen yogurt shop.

Officer involved shooting near South Lake Tahoe forces road closures

UPDATE: Investigators are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting that happened Monday afternoon west of South Lake Tahoe.

At approximately 1 p.m., detectives from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department became involved in a pursuit of a motorcycle, according to El Dorado County Sheriff's Sgt. Anthony Prencipe. Details are still being worked out, but from the early investigation, Prencipe said there were shots fired at the SLTPD detectives on SR89 near Luther Pass.

They pursued the motorcyclist and were joined by other law enforcement officers as the chase led them into El Dorado County and through the intersection with Highway 50. They then headed west to North Upper Truckee Road.

At that spot the motorcyclist was shot by SLTPD officers. Medical attention was given to the rider but he died at the scene.

The area is still surrounded by crime scene tape and Prencipe said it could be hours until it reopens. Also closed in SR89 at the scene of the initial shots. Motorists are not allowed between South Upper Truckee Road and Pickett's Junction.

There was an apparent shooting Monday afternoon in the Meyers area west of South Lake Tahoe after a chase involving law enforcement and a possible robbery suspect. An El Dorado County Sheriff's Office deputy said the shooting was officer-involved.

A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday in the 1900 block of North Carson Street for gross misdemeanor child endangerment after his 2-year-old child went missing for at least 30 minutes, a sheriff’s deputy said.

A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Fairview and N. Edmonds drives Thursday at 11:23 a.m. for DUI first offense, open container, and failure to maintain a lane.

Deputies were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle accident in which a vehicle had driven through two fences and had come to a stop in the backyard of a residence on Quinn Drive.

Missing Carson City Woman Found Safe in Tahoe

Missing person Erin Zellner has been located in South Lake Tahoe by South Lake Tahoe Police.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public’s assistance in locating Erin.

Erin Zellner was reported missing on October 16 2018. Erin Zellner was last seen on October 12 2018 leaving her children with a family member in Carson City. Erin was described as a danger to herself by family members.

Erin is described as 5’06”, 195 pounds with Blonde or Brown hair and blue eyes.

Erin Zellner age was reported missing on October 16 2018. Erin Zellner was last seen on October 12 2018 leaving her children with a family member in Carson City. Erin was described as a danger to herself by family members.

Transient man arrested for failing to register after harassing grocery store customers

—A 57-year-old transient man was arrested in the parking lot of a Carson City grocery store early Friday morning on the charge of an ex-felon failing to register.

Deputies were called to the grocery store on reports of an intoxicated male harassing customers. When the man was asked to leave by employees, the man took a shopping cart for personal use and attempted to leave the property with the cart.

Woman arrested in Carson City on nearly 30-year-old traffic ticket

A 47-year-old Reno woman was arrested in the 1400 block of E. College Parkway Tuesday afternoon on a failure to appear traffic warrant issued almost 30 years ago.

Carson City woman arrested for felony burglary after shoplifting a Giants shirt

A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 3800 block of S. Carson Street Wednesday evening on a felony burglary charge.

Angela Bowman was arrested after deputies responded to a call regarding a petit larceny charge at a Carson City retail store.

The loss prevention team of the store had Bowman detained in the security office when deputies arrived.

Bowman has at least two prior convictions for petit larceny, according to the police report.
