Obituary: Rich Sorenson, co-founder of Northern Nevada Dream Center

Our wonderful father, husband, brother and friend Rich Sorenson made his way to heaven on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the young age of 66. He was surrounded by family and friends as he, in his words, went before us to “get the party started” with Jesus!

What can I say that I haven’t already said about The Floyd? I’ve been covering their shows since 2014, and have never been disappointed.

The combination of Vincent Gates (guitars, bass guitar, lead vocals), Dean Rossi (drums), Curt Mitchell (guitars, slide guitar, vocals), Lisa McCuiston (bass guitar, guitars, tambourine, vocals), Rob Lawrence (keyboards, vocals) and Jeff Laakso (keyboards, saxophones, guitars, vocals) is hard to beat when it comes to recreating the iconic compositions of Pink Floyd.

Battleborn Brews, Bikes, and Bubbly features the Extreme Motor Officer Training Challenge, vendors, a brewfest, moustache competition and more. The Karson Kruzers are hosting their annual car show at Fuji Park, but will be making their way downtown after it’s over, so there will be plenty of cool cars to admire. Mojo Green takes the stage at 7 p.m. and you can head into the Carson Cigar Company to enjoy Reno’s newest Pink Floyd Tribute Band, Scarlett Moon at 9 p.m.
