Kid-sized 'Peanutcracker' comes to Carson City this Friday and Saturday
Submitted by editor on Tue, 11/28/2017 - 3:05pm“Peanutcracker – The Story In A Nutshell,” is a kid-sized version of the holiday classic, “The Nutcracker,” told in 45-minutes by 50 local school school children. Performed by Sierra Nevada Ballet, there will be performances Friday and Saturday at the Carson City Community Center.

You can Wine Walk until you Holiday Crawl downtown. Take your pick of craft shows in town. Kids won’t want to miss the Santa Train at the State Railroad Museum or one of the two performances of ‘The Peanutcracker’ at the Community Center. Whether you’d like to spend the days indoors or out, there is something for all ages in the Carson City area this weekend.

Carson City Board of Supervisors to allocate funds for special events

There are requests for $118,275, so the supervisors will have to pick which groups will not get what they asked for at the board's next meeting on April 5 at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center.

The shows are scheduled for at 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices start at $6 for youth (15 and under); all other tickets are $11 and can be reserved or purchased at Everything Dance Etc or by calling (775) 461-0060.
