Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation brings 'Yappy hour' to Genoa's Sierra Chef

The popular catering company and cooking school will be providing delicious complimentary nibbles and wine and beer will be available for purchase in keepsake WARF glasses. Canine companions are invited to attend. WARF is raising awareness about its new Animal Sanctuary under construction in Stagecoach. Yappy Hour is open to the public and admission is free.

Children's Museum Receives Nevada Arts Council Award

The Nevada Arts Council's support is critical in attracting support from the greater community because of the extreme vetting process used by the NAC and the prestige that comes with being part of a select group of leading cultural institutions. The award was part of Nevada's commitment to the arts in the region which included the Discovery Museum, Artown, Brewery Arts Center, and the Nevada Museum of Art.

Nevada Day announces 'Nevada Counties: 100 years' as theme for 2019

But, more than 1,200 people filed “felt reports” following the magnitude 3.7 earthquake in Washoe Valley the night of June 6. The shaking is a gentle reminder that Nevadans live in the third most seismically active state in the nation, behind Alaska and California.

She makes excellent compost from fresh horse and chicken manures, which she combines with green vegetable, fruit and kitchen waste. She then turns it with her tractor. And, coming from a ranching family who grew their own food, she has an innate sense of how to garden successfully.
