Carson City sheriff joins statewide agreement to extend expired concealed firearms permits

During this contact, the motorist open fired on Sgt. Ben Jenkins, who was struck and killed.

On March 27, 2020, at approximately 5:54 AM, a Nevada Highway Patrol Sergeant had stopped to assist a motorist on US-93 and White Pine county mile marker 106, north of Ely, NV. During this contact, the motorist open fired on Sgt. Ben Jenkins, who was struck and killed. The motorist stole the Sergeant’s uniform and fled the scene in Sgt. Jenkins’ patrol vehicle. Following a search that lasted several hours, the suspect, John Dabritz, a 65-year-old White Pine resident, was located and taken into custody with the assistance of multiple agencies.
Staying Connected In a Socially Distant World

We may feel lonely, tired of our isolation mates (no matter how much we love our families), and/or craving the social connection that comes from going to our jobs and offices as we work from home and remotely or not working due to being classified as non essential.

Lyon County to close offices, work will continue via telephone, email and fax

Nevada governor, DMV grant 90-day license and registration extensions

Steve Sisolak and the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles have issued an automatic 90-day extension for expiring driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations and other DMV documents. Governor Sisolak signed a Declaration of Emergency authorizing the extension March 20.

According to the report, the man was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a residence regarding a domestic battery in progress. Dispatch advised that the suspect was hitting the reporting party.
