Mr. Thomas A. Bohemier, 74, of Brooksville, Florida passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side on October 11, 2020.

During the first act, you’ll meet a Shakespearean actor with a drinking problem, a washed-up former child star, a bimbo with a short memory, and a hapless costumer who finds herself onstage — playing a man.

Who's excited for this Friday's comedy show at the Carson Comedy Club? Sean Peabody, star of Casino Boss is back! Born in San Diego and raised in the Bay Area of California, this comedian has been exploding on the comedy scene for the last 14 years. With a Polynesian background, he has adapted to all styles and types of comedy.

This Friday night, Comedian Rodger Lizaola will be headlining The Carson Comedy Club. Rodger has opened up for comedy legend David Brenner, Eddie Brill, Louis CK, Theo Von, and Mike Epps! He's also opened for some musical acts such as, The Black Eyed Peas, Pussycat Dolls, Baby Bash, & Rhianna!

The Misfits Theater Group in Dayton is holding auditions for its Spring melodrama “Showdown at Phingerdoo or Bad Day at Dead Frog Flats” on Sunday, January 26 at 6 p.m. at the Dayton Library, 321 Dayton Valley Rd, Dayton. This old-time melodrama directed by Andra Woolman is set in the Wild West and has a cast of eight (8) men and five (5) women. I had the honor of meeting some young authors at Edgewood Tahoe Resort the other evening, and was heartened to discover that the spirit of Mark Twain is alive and well, as represented by this handful of today's writers who invoke a Twainian sentiment.

Many types of people make up the fabric of Carson City and in my quest to learn why people are CarsonProud, I enjoy going to the many wonderful events that seem to be held every weekend. I recently attended the the 50th Anniversary of the Nevada Historical Society where time stood still for a moment or two as artists came together at the historical Foreman-Roberts House to showcase talents that have withstood the test of time.

Tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019 at 7 p.m. Carson High School Theatre Arts will show Wednesday Night Live in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center, 851 East William Street. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.

Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint will kick-off Father’s Day in Carson City during its fifth annual Sassabration fundraiser event featuring Brunch and Bingo with Bea Arthur, a tribute to the late comedy actress, singer and activist Bea Arthur on Sunday, June 16 at 11 a.m.
