Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the final V&T Railway train rides of the 2019 season, the 27th annual Carson City Pumpkin Patch at Seeliger Elementary School, fundraisers around town, coin press demonstrations at the Nevada State Museum, comedy at the Carson Nugget and more!

The upcoming Carson City Republican Women's Club meeting will have Nevada State Senator James Settelmeyer as the guest speaker.

The meeting will be held in the Casino Fandango ballroom on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Social hour begins at 11:00 a.m. and the meeting/luncheon at 11:30 a.m.

Registration is now open for the the 2019 Carson City Turkey Trot, a local holiday tradition where hundreds of runners and walkers, some dressed in Thanksgiving costumes, get in a good fitness workout ahead of their respective family afternoon holiday feasts.

Please join Chapter AA of Carson City for a fun and entertaining afternoon at the Governor's Mansion within the Nevada Room on October 12, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will feature Paulette Grune and her Lady's Maid demonstrating her delightful Victorian fashions "From the Bloomers on Up."

A blend of smooth jazz music combined with special art exhibits, demonstrations and art sales brought dozens of attendees to the Bliss and Governor's Mansions.

Heading into Father’s Day weekend, there's plenty of jam-packed activities around the Carson City region. There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.

Good morning Carson City, and happy June! We have a ton of events going on today in our beloved capital city, with the June wine walk, the first day of the farmer’s market, a brew fest at Fuji park, and more! With a high of 75, it’s shaping up to finally start to feel like summer (knock on wood).

Heading into a jam-packed weekend of events around the Carson City region, there's a bevy of activities Friday to get your started. Lace up your shoes for a morning walk at Riverview Park, and then head on over to the Nevada State Museum for a coin press demonstration, and tours that explore anthropology and Nevada history. Later there's a cruise night gathering at Carson Mall to benefit Safe Grad Night, an Italian dinner fundraiser at the Governor's Mansion to benefit Carson City's homeless, live music at Living the Good Life and A to Zen, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club, and much more. The 5th annual Royalty “Crowns and Tiaras” Big Hat High Tea, put on by the Nevada Nurses Foundation, will be held Saturday, June 1 at the Governor's Mansion in Carson City.

A traditional English Tea will be served, with food, tea, desserts, and entertainment.

An Italian Feed fundraiser for The Do Drop In day center at 1895 E Long Street and its parent organization, The Rural Center for Independent Living (RCIL), will be held at the Governor's Mansion's Nevada Room from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 31.

Heading into Saturday, May 18, 2019 we say welcome to the weekend Carson City. Activities abound throughout the region. Bring an umbrella as the forecast calls for some showers. But above all, enjoy the events and activities lined up in Carson City, Carson Valley, Mound House, Silver City, Virginia City and Dayton areas.

Carson City Republican Women's upcoming event will be held this Saturday, May 18 in the Nevada Room at the Governor's Mansion. The theme for this event is "Proud to be an American" honoring every day patriots. Patriotic dress is encouraged but not mandatory.

Good day Carson City and welcome to Wednesday, May 8, 2019. We're looking at another day of sunshine and afternoon highs in the low 70s. We have activities throughout the region today, including a history presentation in Dayton, a Holocaust memorial service at the Governor's Mansion, art classes, live jazz and more. We want to send a big birthday "shoutout" to our outdoor editor emeritus Don Quilici, who turns 85 today. Don and his wife, Elaine, remain active, maintain healthy walks and hikes around the region and have plans for yet another Alaska outback trip this summer. Happy Birthday Q!

Jewish Nevada will host the Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Memorial Day Program in Carson City on Wednesday to honor those individuals who lost their lives during the Holocaust.

Going into the midweek, Wednesday, April 17, 2019, we're looking at a gradual warming trend, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 70. Events and activities are lined up for the day including art workshops, library presentations, live music and more.

Good morning Carson City, and happy Saturday! Today is a day that will definitely feel like Spring, with temperatures almost to 70 degrees. The low tonight will be 36, reminding us that we haven’t shirked off the cold weather entirely just yet.

On the docket today we’ve got the Wine Walk at the Carson Mall, a Downtown Easter Egg Hunt, an Anniversary Party at Browser’s Bookstore, easter bunny photos, and more!

Here we are, entering the end of the work week. We welcome Friday, April 12, 2019 with a forecast calling for mostly sunny skies with a daytime high in the low to mid 50s. Not bad. Every year Carson City Republican Women offer a $2000 scholarship to a graduating senior from the greater Carson City, Moundhouse and Dayton areas.

Two upcoming dances offered by two Carson City schools are aimed at family participation, with parents serving as dance partners to their children.

Senator Jacky Rosen will keynote the Carson Dems' Capital Blue Dinner on Wed, April 17th from 5:30 - 9:00 pm in the Nevada Room of the Governor's Mansion, 606 Mountain Street. Food to be prepared by A Catered Affair. There will also be a no-host wine bar, raffles and silent auctions. Assigned seating available for four or more.

Fremont Elementary School PTA is hosting our First Mother & Son Dance! This event is open to all ages in our community. The dance will be on April 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Governor's Mansion located at 606 Mountain Street in Carson City.
