Spirited Investigations is hosting a unique paranormal and historic experience with a BBQ cook-out and paranormal investigation at the iconic Sutro Tunnel and the surrounding ghost town in Dayton.

Heading into the final weekend of October, Halloween and Nevada Day events will keep revelers busy through Sunday making for a jam packed weekend of fun for families and grownups around the Carson City region.

Halloween will be celebrated this week at one of the most haunted destinations in the country, Virginia City, where the Wild West and ghosts of the past are part of the Comstock's legendary folklore.

Secrets of Harridge House, a weekly radio drama produced by Proscenium Players, Inc. and KNVC 95.1 FM Carson City premieres this Friday, Oct. 30, 2020 at 8 p.m. Created by John Adams and Scott Young, the story follows three siblings who were separated as infants and reunited almost 30-years later as they inherit the family estate in fictional Harridge, Nev.

Each October, Nevadans turn their attention to the state capitol, Carson City, home of the “official” Nevada Day Parade. Since 1938, the Nevada Day Parade in Carson City has been an annual coming together to celebrate Nevada’s heritage and the founding of this great state on October 31, 1864.

CARSON CITY — V&T Railway is celebrating Halloween with family-friendly and spooky railbike rides. Running Friday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Oct. 31, V&T Railway will offer children and adult focused haunted railbike rides at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.

CARSON CITY — With fall in the air and winter nipping at her heels, curling up with a good book is a great way to spend a few hours – or days – and learn about Nevada in the process.

Heading into the last day of October and you know what that means: Happy Halloween! Best to bundle up under the costumes as Thursday will be another chilly day, though warmer than Wednesday. The ghosts and zombies and costume super heroes will be out and about now through Thursday, either at organized events or Halloween night trick or treating around the Carson City area, including the Carson Mall, throughout downtown and at the Governor's Mansion.

To help members of the Leisure Hour Club celebrate Halloween, Sandie La Nae will share her knowledge of Carson City’s spirits at the Club’s next meeting on Wednesday, October 16.

The 31st annual Dayton Valley Days kicks off this weekend with a street festival, food booths, plenty of games for kids, a host of family entertainment options including gold panning, ghost tours, a vehicle show and shine, chili cook-off, Sunday pet parade and more.

Join Nevada Rural Community Partners for its third annual Trunk n' Treat celebration, Saturday, Oct. 13, 6 to 9 p.m. at Bully's Sports Bar in Carson City.

Children, families and the entire community are invited to the free event, and are encouraged to participate by decorating vehicles and joining in on the fun for a minimal entry fee of $10. Trophies are awarded for the best decorated vehicle, and goodie bags are provided to the little ghosts and goblins

Bikers won’t want to miss the weekly party at Battle Born Harley with house band, the Smoken Rabbits; all vehicles are welcome to join in the fun and get some grub from the Rollin Pizza Pie food truck. The whole family will enjoy tonight’s Twilight Concert with the Sextones at the Dangberg Home Historic Ranch.
