The American Cancer Society is hosting a poker run Saturday at Mills Park, and a free lacrosse clinic for kids ages 6-12 will be held at John L. Harvey Field. The Nevada Humane Society is virtually hosting its annual “Adopt a Duck” fundraiser for interested participants. Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space to host September full moon hike

The hike will be a fun adventure featuring the "Corn Moon," the Ranch Overlook, and plenty of beautiful scenery.

I happen to fall into the last camp, though I would never try to persuade anybody to come over to my way of thinking.
Brewery Arts Center's Flatbed Concert Series to bring Country, folk music to Schulz Ranch neighborhood

Miles Construction Company has generously donated the use of a Flatbed Truck and with financial support from The Change Companies, the Nauman Foundation, and Carson Tahoe Hospital, all summer the BAC has placed musicians and bands on the flatbed and driven them through the streets and neighborhoods of Carson City and now the fun goes into September.

The 2020 Jazz & Beyond Music and Art Festival will include the second annual Carson City Open Studios Tour with multiple locations. Hosted by the Carson City Classic Cinema Club, the Brewery Arts Center is holding a drive-in movie showing of the 1950s classic “Shane” on Saturday. Combined with live music and plenty of dancing, it will be a weekend for all to enjoy! Read on for more information.

The BAC, however, along with several Carson City community partners, stepped up to bring safe family fun to the capital city, including the Flatbed Concert Series and drive-in movie nights.

The route will begin at the Tanglewood Apartments near the CHS tech center, drive through Mills Park and then wherever people are safely gathering.

Humane Society adjusts 'Adopt a Duck' fundraiser, $10K or car from Carson City Toyota goes to grand prize winner

Adopt a Duck is one of the Nevada Humane Society’s biggest fundraising events of the year, and this year despite COVID-19, it will continue! However, instead of participants gathering on the banks, this year’s event will be live streamed from the Reno Shelter on August 29 at 12 p.m. and will consist of adorable shelter dogs and cats doing adorable activities.

Mills Park pickleball court project in Carson City complete and open for play

This phase consists of four dedicated pickleball courts with permanent nets, installed on the westernmost of the two asphalt-base tennis courts.
