The Nevada Supreme Court has ruled unanimously to dismiss an appeal filed by President Donald Trump’s campaign seeking to overturn the state’s presidential election results.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020 that there is an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individual was a male Douglas County resident in his 80’s. CCHHS is also reporting 402 new cases and 6 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad County region.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Monday, Dec. 7, 2020 that there are two additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individuals were a male Carson City resident in his 90s and a male Lyon County resident in his 70s.

A 67-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday for suspicion of felony burglary and drug charges, according to a sheriff's booking report.

A traffic accident was reported just after 6 p.m. on Friday evening involving at least three vehicles in the westbound lane on Highway 50 E.

For the week ending November 28, initial claims for unemployment insurance (UI) totaled 6,442, down 1,679 claims, or 20.7 percent, compared to the previous week’s total of 8,121 claims, according to finalized data from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR).

CARSON CITY — For the week ending Nov. 21, initial claims for unemployment insurance totaled 8,121, up 871 claims, or 12.1 percent, compared to the previous week’s total of 7,243 claims, according to finalized data from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. Through the week ending Nov. 21, there have been a total of 768,159 initial claims filed in 2020, 746,507 of which have been filed since the week ending March 14.

We are also reporting 124 new cases and 3 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 4,893, with 2,413 recoveries and 34 deaths; 2,446 cases remain active.

Graduates of the Carson City Chamber Leadership classes volunteered their time Saturday to assist the state grounds crew in installing Christmas lights and decorations in front of the capitol.
