Sierra Lutheran High School will host the 2nd Annual Christ IS Christmas Craft Fair November 9-10 in the Norm Brauer Gymnasium from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A wide variety of over 40 vendors offering everything from handmade Christmas decorations and gifts, to food samples, to art and jewelry booths and much more will be on display throughout the weekend.

The Capital City Arts Initiative presents its exhibition, "Saludos Amigos" by artist Justin Favela at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery. The exhibition is in the gallery now through Jan. 29, 2020, at the Courthouse, 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The exhibition is free and the public is cordially invited. The second-floor gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Carson City Special Enforcement Team deputies arrest alleged methamphetamine dealers following surveillance

A 49-year-old Carson City woman and a 51-year-old Carson City man were arrested in the area of S. Carson Street and 6th Street for drug-related felony and misdemeanor crimes.

According to the report, Merie Mona Nowinski and David Lynn Hopper were arrested after Special Enforcement Team deputies were surveilling in the area of N. Carson Street.

The Nevada Artist Association Art Gallery 40th Anniversary Celebration

Forty years ago, Carson City’s art and culture community experienced a massive boost when the Nevada Artists Association Art Gallery opened its doors.

The funding and building of this volunteer run gallery was spearheaded by local Nevada artists and donated to Carson City as part of the Brewery Arts Center Campus in 1979. Today NAA enjoys a membership of over 150 member artists, many of whom volunteer to host at and run Nevada Artists Association Art Gallery that has continually contributed to the arts and culture of the Carson City community throughout the past 40 years.

— A 34-year-old transient woman was arrested in the 800 block of North Roop Street on 13 charges including grand theft auto, hit and run, eluding, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Nicole Lee Katz was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the Carson City Aquatics Center for a report of a stolen vehicle.

Nevadans take home 1,517 cats and dogs during Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days

More than 50 animal shelters and rescue groups participated in Nevada’s large free pet adoption event, Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days. It was organized by Maddie's Pet Project in Nevada, a three-year campaign aimed at helping more homeless cats and dogs find good homes and creating a safety net for pets by improving access to veterinary care in the Silver State.

Support sought for horse protection fencing at Carson City's Centennial Park

Virginia Range Wildlife Protection Association is working with the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space to install a fence at Centennial Park.
