Restaurant owner cited for battery
Submitted by admin on Mon, 08/15/2011 - 5:18pmYesterday we posted a story that Jim Phalan, owner of Firkin & Fox and High Sierra Brewery, had reported on his Facebook profile that he had been attacked and beaten early Saturday morning in downtown Carson City. He commented on that post that he knew who the attackers were and would press charges.
But, according to the incident report from the Carson City Sheriff's Office, that's only half the story. It turns out that Phalan was cited for battery after he allegedly sucker punched a man sitting at the bar inside the Horseshoe Club. This was after another altercation he had in front of the Blue Bull bar, where he allegedly started a fight with another man.

New battlefield for Fridays@3rd Street war: Court
Submitted by Kirk Caraway on Sat, 09/11/2010 - 10:40amThe dispute between the Mom & Pop's Diner owner Doug Cramer and Brewery Arts Center director John Procaccini is heading for small claims court.
I wrote about this dispute back in June, adding to the story from the Appeal on the subject.
In short, Cramer signed a contract that included a diagram that showed where the bars operated by Mom & Pop's and Firkin & Fox were to be located. But those locations were changed in a way that Cramer claims was detrimental to his business, cutting off access to the bulk of the crowd. Procaccini admits that changes were made to the bar locations, but doesn't agree that the changes constitutes a breach of contract.
