Facebook Contest

There's still time to enter the "beat the heat" photo contest sponsored through the Carson City Visitors Bureau.

The contest is designed around summer visitors to Nevada's capital city and beating the heat. Participants have a chance to win lodging, dining and entertainment passes, rodeo tickets and more.

Carson City was recently recognized nationally as the fastest warming city in the United States. To remind the world that we do not live in a dry, barren, hot wasteland Visit Carson City is hosting a “Beat The Heat” photo contest on Facebook.

Reno Fam on the Go and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada are teaming together to promote family fun and the upcoming “Together We Can Solve Hunger” concert.   Participants make their most magnificent ice cream sundae, snap a picture, and enter it on the Facebook contest site at

The Pony Express Territory is pleased to announce that Victor Galbraith of Auburn, Calif. has won and accepted a free overnight stay in Ely and four tickets to experience the magic of Nevada’s original Polar Express train. When notified that he was the contest winner, Galbraith said, “My wife and I are excited to be bringing our Grandkids with us. They are going to have a blast!"
