Downtown Carson City Wine Walk

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the Carson City Wine Walk was taken over by spooky patrons wandering downtown in their funky Halloween costumes.

This Saturday, Oct. 3, the Carson City Wine Walk will be returning to the capital city for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began, with new safety rules in place to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

The downtown Carson City wine walk is back this Saturday. Tickets can be purchased online ONLY at www.ccwinewalk.brownpapertickets.com. TICKETS ARE LIMITED. Tickets must be purchased by noon on the day of the event. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD IN PERSON.

Stroll Downtown Carson City and enjoy wine poured from participating businesses. This is a perfect opportunity to experience everything the Downtown has to offer while participating businesses present special deals, entertainment and a variety of wines.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. The monthly Downtown Carson City Wine Walk takes place Saturday followed by a performance from Tom Petty and Rod Stewart tribute bands during The Do Drop In’s “A Face in the Crowd” homeless fundraiser at Fuji Park. St. Teresa School will host its 17th annual Crab Feed Fundraiser. Combined with comedy at the Carson Nugget and Brewery Arts Center, the Carson City region is in store for a busy weekend. Heading into the Super Bowl weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the monthly downtown Carson City wine walk, plus karaoke at Bella Vita Bistro and Y-NOT Saloon. The Forest Service begins its first “Ski With a Ranger” at Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Mountain Resort on Friday. Combined with championship football festivities on Sunday, the Silver State is in store for a wild, good time.

Heading into the weekend it sure will seem like spring around the Carson City region and even up at Lake Tahoe, with ample sunshine and near record high temperatures. By Sunday though, that will change as a strong cold front brings much colder and windier conditions with a possible quick round of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

What a week it was Carson City, and it isn't even over yet. Heading into Friday, May 3, 2019, we're looking at continued sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s. There's a host of activities Friday and, looking ahead, a bevy of fun Saturday including a Mother's Day craft fair at the Carson City Community Center, a Star Wars themed bicycle safety day, a wine, cheese and dessert ride aboard the V&T, an early opening of the downtown farmer's market, the May Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, a memorial walk, presentations, comedy, live music and more. Enjoy.

Not only is Friday the first day of March in this 2019 calendar year but it is also the end of the work week. And for this we say welcome to a month that brings us the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, which is this Saturday, NCAA basketball playoffs, St. Patrick's Day celebrations and the first day of spring. Let’s get August off to a good start. The first Saturday of the month always plays host to the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, but with the Jazz and Beyond Musical Festival in full swing, you’ll have even more reasons to meander around downtown. The afternoon ice cream social at the historic Foreman-Roberts House is a perfect family-friendly treat before heading to the Brewery Arts Center for tonight’s free concert. Keep reading, you’ll find a little bit of something for everyone in the Carson City, Carson Valley, Dayton and Virginia City areas.

Carson City Art Gallery and Pottery will host an Artist Faire this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 110 South Curry Street in the parking lot and on the porch. A selection of the gallery’s artists will be displaying their work, and some will be doing live demonstrations.

I’m going to apologize right now. I can’t anticipate what this storm system will throw at us, so some of these planned events could get cancelled. One event that is never afraid of Mother Nature is the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk. Come rain, shine, or blizzard, you’ll find can sip, stroll, and discover starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Carson Hot Springs aren’t afraid of a little snow, and a special visit from Megan the Mermaid will make the icy hot experience more memorable. See what the Wild Horse Children’s Theater’s elite performance troupe will be showcasing at an upcoming competition during a special presentation at the Carson Mall. If your bookshelves are looking a little bare, head to Dog Eared Books on Fairview where their fill-a-bag parking lot sale will have your reading list well supplied. Get a jump on any healthy resolutions by joining Muscle Powered on today’s hike along Prison Hill; just be prepared for the trek and great photo opportunities. Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint has snared touring band, The River Arkansas, to play some Americana roots on their stage; a perfect dinner and show.

Summer weekends make me wish I had a clone. With all the hustle and bustle in town, there is just no way to do and see it all. Start the day at the Silver Dollar Car Classic and you can get your fill of shiny chrome and breakfast, too; the Kiwanis will be serving up pancakes until 10:30 a.m. The Downtown Carson City Wine Walk has been infiltrated by the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival. Several of the stops will be hosting musicians, in addition to vino.

Get ready to kiss July goodbye. August begins tomorrow and brings with it classic cars, the Virginia City Rodeo, and some scorching hot temperatures. Beat the heat with an ice cream cone from Baskin Robbins – today they’re offering a scoop for just $1.50. Survive the week and you’ll be rewarded with the downtown Carson City Wine Walk and the Silver Dollar Car Classic, just to name a few of your options. McKenzie Martin and Breeanne Yeoman noticed the balloons in front of The Studio at Adams Hub during the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk on Saturday. They stopped in to find the exhibit of artists who are enrolled in the Northern Nevada Artrepreneurs Workshop.

The Downtown Coin Club is making room for some new books in its library, so we are giving away many great books, as well as empty coin albums. Join us on wine walk day at 111 W. Telegraph St. at Curry.

Start July off with a bang, and some wine. With a three-day holiday weekend, you’ll find many things throughout the area to compete for your attention, but there’s no fun like the Downtown Business Association’s monthly Downtown Wine Walk. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2. Grab a wine glass, map, and hand stamp and you will have until 5 p.m. to hit as many stops as possible before the raffle begins.

Showers and thunderstorms may develop Friday afternoon around Carson City with the potential for heavier bands of precipitation arriving early Saturday morning, a National Weather Service forecaster said.

National Weather Service meteorologist Zach Colby said the brunt of Friday’s weather will be north of Interstate 80, possibly moving southward into the afternoon and early evening.

The Downtown Business Association’s wine walk has always been rain, snow, or shine. Now they can add construction to the list of things that won’t get in the way of this fun monthly event. Saturday, April 2, go see for yourself what new things are breaking ground in the downtown corridor and enjoy some wine, nibbles, and entertainment while you’re there.

The Downtown Business Association is proud to host a downtown Wine Walk in Carson City every single month. That does mean that you get a mix of rain, shine, and snow throughout the year.
