Several fundraisers, including the annual “Share Your Christmas” Food Drive will be available throughout the Carson City, Minden and Reno areas on Friday. You can visit the North Pole safely as part of a drive-thru Santa's Village experience at V&T Railway in Carson City, beginning Friday into the weekend. A living nativity scene will be featured at First United Methodist Church on Saturday and Sunday. Combined with train rides in Virginia City, the state capital will be buzzing with excitement. Volunteers remove 7,000 pounds of trash Monday from Carson City open space

In total, more than 50 volunteers removed 7,080 pounds of trash from the natural area. Items of all kinds were taken out of the canyons including plastic bottles, tires, yard trimmings, toys, and even kitchen sinks.

Silver State Art Festival coming to Carson City's Fuji Park Sept. 13-15

Costco employee in unknown condition following crushing incident Thursday
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 08/31/2019 - 3:34pmOn Thursday, first responders were dispatched to the Carson City Costco following a serious injury involving an employee who was apparently crushed by a malfunctioning steel door.
According to one customer who wished to have their name withheld from the story, they witnessed the incident while getting their receipts checked at the exit.
Carson City Library Exhibit Displays Gourd Art

The local group is known as the Great Basin Gourd Patch meet monthly in the Johnson Lane area to share and learn techniques used on gourds.
