Nevada Arts Council gives out $392,250 in CARES Act funds to arts groups statewide

Grant amounts ranged from $1,000 to $10,000, based on each group’s total annual revenue.

The funding and building of this volunteer run gallery was spearheaded by local Nevada artists and donated to Carson City as part of the Brewery Arts Center Campus in 1979. Today NAA enjoys a membership of over 150 member artists, many of whom volunteer to host at and run Nevada Artists Association Art Gallery that has continually contributed to the arts and culture of the Carson City community throughout the past 40 years.

Events around the area include fitness hikes and bike ride, a free floral design class at Silver City School House, art showings and Congressman Mark Amodei at Casino Fandango. Also featured is the launch of the Jukebox International Film Festival at the community center, a jazz quintet performance at Comma Courtyard and the 115th birthday celebration of Count Basie as part of the Jazz and Beyond music festival. Obituary for Roger M. Laird

Roger was married to his high school sweetheart, Jean (Russell) Laird. They shared 56 years of marriage.
