A 42-year-old Carson City Jail inmate, who was admitted to the hospital on Thursday after suffering a medical emergency, died early Sunday morning, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

Miles Construction Company has generously donated the use of a Flatbed Truck and with financial support from The Change Companies, the Nauman Foundation, and Carson Tahoe Hospital, all summer the BAC has placed musicians and bands on the flatbed and driven them through the streets and neighborhoods of Carson City and now the fun goes into September.

A 35-year-old Carson City man was booked Wednesday for suspicion of hit and run causing injury, DUI drugs, failure to render aid and failure to maintain a lane of travel, a sheriff's booking report states.

This week's Flat Bed Concert Series will be going through the middle of Carson City, featuring Spike McGuire from Loud as Folk along with two other musicians. The concert will be held Saturday, July 25 beginning at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

The route will begin at the Tanglewood Apartments near the CHS tech center, drive through Mills Park and then wherever people are safely gathering.

UPDATE: Dayton Urgent Care will be accepting accepting gift cards from the public that will then be used to purchase school supply items instead of collecting actual school supplies, according to Carson Tahoe Health.

Dayton Urgent Care is doing so in an effort to reduce/prevent any possible spread of COVID-19. Donors are asked to bring gift cards rather than items for a donation box.

Carson City Sheriff's Office investigates shooting, victim shot in hand, 3 suspects sought

UPDATE 5:11PM: The assailants are described as three males in their 20s. Two were wearing dark colored clothing and the other was in light colored clothing. All three suspects were described to be in hoodies and wearing face coverings.

UPDATE 2:23PM: After 8 a.m. Thursday morning, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office was notified of a patient at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center Emergency Room with a gunshot to the hand.

At arrival, deputies were informed by the victim that three unknown persons forced their way into his home at the 1500 block of Stanford Drive and shot him. The unknown assailants fled immediately, and the victim transported himself to the hospital, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong in a news release.

What happened is that a small group of committed beekeepers decided to approach the city with the idea, and then worked tirelessly for two years with Carson City Board of Supervisors and Mayor Bob Crowell to develop an organization committed to protecting pollinator habitat within the city boundaries.
