Notification of CARES Act funding opportunity in Carson City

In response to the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Program has allocated the Nevada Non-Entitlement CDBG Program through the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development the amount of $283,213 to Carson City. From the $283,213, $70,426 has not been funded. This notice is to fund the remaining $70,426.

Shoe Tree Brewing Co. was awarded Gold and Bronze medals at the 2020 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition, presented by the Brewers Association. Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting 14 new cases and eight recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 926, with 809 recoveries and fifteen deaths, 102 cases remain active.

Carson City, Quad region COVID-19 Wednesday briefing: 12 new cases, 39 recoveries

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Wednesday, August 19, 2020 that there are 12 new cases and 39 recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 906, with 791 recoveries and 15 deaths, 100 cases remain active.

Draft Carson City zoning code amendments available for public review

The Carson City Planning Division is seeking public comment on possible revisions to the City’s zoning ordinance, Title 18. The City’s Planning Commission has conducted several workshops and has drafted proposed amendments for portions of Title 18.

On August 20, 2020, the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Corrective Actions will be opening the public comment period for its Draft Proposed Plan: Operable Unit 8 (OU-8) Peripheral Areas located within the Anaconda Copper Mine Site in Lyon County. Nevada rental assistance program continues, help available for tenants impacted by COVID-19

CARSON CITY — After the first week of the State of Nevada’s rental assistance program, significant funds remain available for renters who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the launch of the program last Monday, a total of 3,085 statewide applications had been submitted by tenants seeking assistance.
