MontBleu at Lake Tahoe marches into New Year with SnowGlobe after-parties, headliners, comedy

New Year's weekend comes amplified at Lake Tahoe MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa with three jam-packed nights of SnowGlobe Music Festival after-parties featuring performances by several top-billed concert favorites including Chromeo, Flosstradamus and Mimosa.

And the celebration continues into the New Year as MontBleu has added a power-packed 2013 winter entertainment lineup that includes live WFC mixed martial arts fighting, stand-up laughs from Comedy Central’s Mario Cantone and eclectic music featuring Iration, The Expendables and Umphrey’s McGee.

The outer limits of imagination will be stretched over three days and nights when the SnowGlobe Music Festival arrives at the Lake Tahoe Community College campus Dec. 29-31. And as the shows wrap up each night, MontBleu has made room through the morning hours for more music with headlining stars of SnowGlobe all the way to Jan. 1, 2013.

Turn, spin and groove at after-party venues with performances by Mimosa with Paper Diamond, Ana Sia and Zeb Early stating at 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 in the showroom. Meanwhile, at Blu Nightclub, Minnesota with Baauer, RL Grime and Benjah Ninjah vs. S1nth3sys take the stage at 11 p.m.

House and dubstep continues Sunday, Dec. 30 featuring rock DJ sensation, Samples, joined by Black Rock City All-Stars, Coop DA Loop, Irieyes, Mr. Rooney & Phil Harmonic at 10 p.m. at Blu Nightclub. SnowGlobe headliner Flosstradamus and guests Griz and UZ will rock the showroom at 11 p.m.

Along with multiple New Year's Eve festivities throughout the casino, MontBleu will host internationally acclaimed electro-funk duo and SnowGlobe headliner, Chromeo, at 1 a.m. New Year's early morning, Jan. 1. High-spirited New Year's Eve revelry continues elsewhere throughout MontBleu with three parties-in-one across venues at Opal Ultra Lounge, BLU nightclub and the 14,000 sq. ft. convention center. MontBleu will spice up the evening with live music, free party favors, champagne, go-go dancers and body painting all night/morning long.

After the last of the New Year's confetti has been swept up, MontBleu ushers in high-caliber sports, comedy and music to its winter lineup.

What happens when the prizefighter meets the martial artist? Some of the most intense fist-to-cuff kick-action battles in the nation. World Fighting Championships arrives at MontBleu Jan. 12 with hard-hitting Mixed Martial Arts "Live at The Lake" duels. Doors open at 8 p.m. with the fights at 9 p.m.

MontBleu welcomes funny man Mario Cantone, Jan. 26. This "Sex in the City" regular and Comedy Central veteran is known for his spot-on impressions of Bruce Springsteen and Liza Minnelli, and saucy one-liner bombs that cover that entire pop culture spectrum.

Back by popular demand, Iration blends vibes of the tropics, reggae infused rock with generous amounts of pop and synth, Feb. 15. The group recently released a new single entitled “Porcupine ft. Lincoln Parish” from Cage The Elephant – the single is the first off their upcoming full length record “Automatic,” due out in 2013.

The Expendables, a Santa Cruz based-group that blends reggae, punk rock and with ’80s-style dueling guitar solos returns to MontBleu, March 6. The group is a crowd favorite at the annual Vans Warp summer music tour.

"Improg" music — a blend of progressive and improvisational — will debut at MontBleu with Umphrey's McGee on St. Patty’s Day, March 17. Creators of the improg sound, the Chicago band has a devout fan base.
