Carson City area weather: Mostly sunny, cold and dry through Wednesday
After the wintry start to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, dry weather will prevail for the remainder of the weekend around Carson City, resulting in minimal weather-related travel impacts on major highways, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will remain below average, with highs mainly in the 30s and lows from the single digits to the teens through Sunday. Temperatures could drop below zero in the coldest Sierra valleys. Generally light winds are expected through Sunday. Mainly dry conditions will continue through Wednesday, with temperatures slowly warming into the 40s.
In Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas, temperatures Saturday will hover around 30 with a low in the low teens. Sunday's high in the low 30s and lows in the low teens. Monday will see a high in the upper 30, with, again, lows in the low teens. Tuesday and Wednesday will see warmup with highs in the low to mid 40s.
There is a chance of a weather system moving into the region by Thursday. However, forecasters are uncertain at this point whether western Nevada will get any significant precipitation as models show, at least for now, that the weather pattern is splitting with the storm inland to the far north and south.
