Dates set for Carson Chamber Singers Christmas concerts in Reno, Sacramento
The Carson Chamber Singers, directed by Michael Langham, continues its 30th season with a pair of Christmas concerts in Reno and Sacramento. The first concert will be on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Island Ave. in Reno.
The program will be repeated in Sacramento on Sunday, December 7, at 7 p.m., at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 2391 St. Marks Way. For the Sunday concert, the St. Mark's Chancel Choir and the St. Mark's Singers will join in performance with the Carson Chamber Singers.
The varied program features Camille Saint-Saëns' "Oratorio de Noël," Op. 12, for Chorus and Soloist with organ, harp, and strings, and works by John Rutter, Mykola Leontovych, Ken Malucelli, Michael Langham, and others.
Carson Chamber Singers, a select performing group of the Carson City Symphony Association, is supported in part by a grant from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts and by Association memberships and donations.
Tickets for the Reno concert at $10, free for age 16 and under, are available online at CCSymphony.com and at the door. Carson City Symphony flex tickets also will be accepted.
