Seven teenagers were injured, some critically, in a single vehicle rollover crash that happened late Thursday night on Kings Canyon Road, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. At least two were flown by air ambulance to Renown Medical Center.
The accident was reported at 10:46 p.m. and involved an SUV, said Furlong. It happened around a quarter mile west of the intersection of Kings Canyon and Longview Way. Injuries range from moderate to severe, said Furlong. Kings Canyon Road is closed.
Those injured were taken by either air ambulance or ground ambulance to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno and Carson Tahoe Hospital, said Furlong.
There is no school Friday in recognition of Veterans Day.
Kings Canyon Road was closed and then re-opened later this morning. Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating.
