Bikes, lights, costumes and fun for all ages during Carson City Blinky Man Halloween
Blinky Man, Carson City’s costumed, night-time, bicycling-with-lights event, will ride this Halloween. Each year, Halloween at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City attracts thousands of trick-or-treaters and celebrators. Visitors flock to the area to receive candy from the Governor plus enjoy a street party which includes haunted houses, jugglers, stilt-walkers, horse patrols and more.
This year Blinky Man Halloween is joining in the festivities by providing a blinking night ride. This Free-to-ride event encourages participants to dress up themselves and their bikes with costumes and bright and blinking lights to celebrate the holiday with a biking tour of some of the most exciting stops in Carson City. The ride starts between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm on October 31st at the patio at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar. This pedal powered ride includes a memorable stop at the Governor’s mansion. Children of all ages are encouraged to join the fun if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The success of the Blinky Man Summer Solstice 2013 event encouraged promoters to create a unique, family-friendly, safe Halloween experience. The evening’s festivities include a multi-stop, age appropriate tour. The first part focuses on trick-or-treating in nearby neighborhoods, the Governor’s mansion, and the Blinky House whose location will be held secret until the event. The Blinky House will host entertainment. Later in the evening, the tour will be geared toward adults with stops at The Tap Shack and the Haunted Alley Way at the Horseshoe Club.
Event promoter, Kyle Horvath said, “Blinky Man promotes not only the accessibility of Carson City for bikes but also the unique Halloween activities that the Westside provides. Carson City offers an amazing Halloween experience, and we’re excited to be part of it.”
