Harvest time in Carson City
From harvest trains to harvest fairs and festivals, the Nevada state capital was alive with the sights, sounds, colors and activities of autumn Saturday.
Families selected some of the best pumpkins in the area at the Seeliger Elementary School Pumpkin Patch, an annual fall event now in its 25th year.
Just a few blocks west the Nevada State Railroad Museum hosted its annual Harvest Train, now in its third year.
This year the Harvest Train featured a pumpkin patch for children, vendor booths, food trucks, engines from the Carson City Fire Department and, of course, rides on the Virginia and Truckee No. 25 steam engine.
On the north end of Carson City, the annual How-O-Ween Fall Festival benefiting Sierra Therapeutic Equestrian Program (STEP) Inc.
The festival kicked off its 10th year of celebrating and helping the Washoe Valley-based equine therapy program Saturday.
