HopeFest outdoor concert Friday in Downtown Carson City to benefit local cancer patients
The Carson Tahoe Health Foundation announces HopeFest 2013, an outdoor concert offering free admission with all sales on food, drinks and raffle tickets directly benefitting local cancer patients.
The outdoor event featuring the band Notch 8 takes place on Friday, October 4 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. outside of the Firkin & Fox restaurant on Third Street in Carson City. The event was rescheduled due to hazardous air conditions caused by the California Rim Fire.
“A cancer diagnosis comes with a great deal of anxiety and all the unplanned expenses can be overwhelming,” said Kitty McKay, Development Officer for the CTH Foundation. “HopeFest raises funds to put gas in a patient’s car, a place to stay during treatment, assistance with insurance co-pays, and help with life-saving medications.” Support is then distributed to patients in need through the Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center.
The event raffle is sponsored by Dick Campagni’s car dealerships, who, for six years in a row, have donated the choice of a new car or $10,000 as the raffle prize. The winner will be drawn at HopeFest, but need not be present to win. In addition, Firkin & Fox and High Sierra Brewery Company donate all the food, drinks and hand crafted beer and wine for sale at the event. The generosity of our sponsors allows for 100% of the proceeds to go directly to local patient support.
Those who attend can simply show up outside of Firkin & Fox on October 4. Attendees can support the cause by buying food and drinks, raffle tickets, and tribute flags. A BBQ Meal and unlimited beverages can be purchased for $35, or $5 for an à la carte meal ticket. For questions about the event, new car raffle tickets, or to make a donation to support local cancer patients, please call 775-445-5161 or email info@carsontahoe.org.
About the Carson Tahoe Foundation
Since 1998, the CTH Foundation has been encouraging and accepting gifts of all types that contribute to the health and well-being of northern Nevada and California. The Foundation was instrumental in the construction of the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center, the only cancer center in Nevada to receive a gold level designation by the Commission on Cancer. Foundation efforts helped establish housing for cancer patients in need through the Merriner Cottages.
The Foundation Board is comprised of knowledgeable, caring staff and volunteers who direct the use of donations for equipment, facilities and services of Carson Tahoe Health. To learn more, go to www.carsontahoe.org.
