Four employers to be recognized by Nevada employment department for hiring people with disabilities
Four area employers will be honored Wednesday in Reno by Nevada's employment department for their efforts to hire people with disabilities.
Awards will be presented to Starbucks, OfficeMax, Arrow Electronics and Goodwill of Sacramento for their outstanding efforts to hire people with disabilities into their businesses, said Shelley Hendren, administrator for the state's Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation Division.
“We are pleased to honor these companies for their commitment to employing people with disabilities,” Hendren said. “These employers realize that people with disabilities are qualified and dedicated employees who contribute tremendously to the workforce.” We hope this inspires other employers to also hire individuals with disabilities.”
The Sept. 24 ceremony will be in the Grand Sierra Resort Crystal Ballroom beginning at 4:30 p.m.
