Woman jailed after allegedly lunging at bartender, kicking officer
A 46-year-old woman was arrested Thursday on battery charges after she allegedly lunged at a bartender, hit a bar manager with a cell phone and, later, kicked an officer as she was being arrested for disorderly conduct, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Officers were dispatched to a casino in the 900 block of Carson Street shortly before 11 p.m. in reference to a woman causing a disturbance. The woman was yelling profanities in the bar area and disturbing customers, the arrest report states. According to employees, the woman attempted to jump over the bar when she became angry with the bartender and then hit the bar manager in the hand with a cell phone when the manager told her to leave, the report states.
Officer made contact with the woman, who told them she was an FBI agent and then began calling the officer several profanities. While attempting to search the woman during the incident, she was uncooperative and kicked a deputy in the right leg area that caused him pain, the arrest report states. She faces charges of gross misdemeanor battery on a police officer and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and battery. Bail: $3,782.
In other arrests:
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was jailed Thursday on misdemeanor battery and trespassing charges following a Sept. 16 incident in the 4500 block of Muldoon Street. According to the arrest report, officers were called to the residence on Sept. 16, 3:01 p.m. on a report of man who had walked into a woman’s home. The woman stated she pushed the man out the door, that he pushed back, hitting her with the door. She stated she then pulled a pistol and pointed it at the man, who then left.
Officers were later given a phone number for the suspect, who admitted to being at the home but denied entering the residence, the arrest report states. The man told officers he would meet with them on Sept. 18.
On Thursday at around 11:20 a.m. the man came to the front counter of the sheriff’s office, and the woman also arrived, and identified the man as the subject that had been at her home. After interviewing the man, he was taken into custody for battery and trespassing and booked into jailed. Bail: $1,379.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 12:08 a.m. in the area of Carson and Bath streets on misdemeanor charges of driving without a revoked license because of a DUI, no proof of insurance and being in violation of pretrial supervision.
According to the arrest report, officers noticed the vehicle the man was driving did not have a functioning license plate light and the driver’s brake light was out.
During the stop, dispatch advised the man has a revoked license that extends through Dec. 8, 2014. Bail: $4,874.
— A 20-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Thursday, 7:30 p.m. on a misdemeanor criminal contempt warrant issued Dec. 18, 2012. Bail: $500.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
