Red's Old 395 joins Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada spotlight campaign
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada announced Tuesday that Red’s Old 395 Grill in Carson City is a spotlight business of the month. During the month of September, Red’s Old 395 Grill is collecting funds for a donation to the organization.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada in association with Boys & Girls Clubs of America participate in the National IJTO campaign, said Susie Messina, special events coordinator. “It Just Takes One” is a campaign that was developed to help raise proceeds to aid the clubs across the nation meet their goals in educating, caring, and providing a safe and rewarding environment for the youth of our communities, she said.
“We have taken it a step closer to heart and have asked local businesses to team up with us each month and ask their customers, on our behalf, as they checkout or pay their bill, if they would like to donate a dollar or more the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada to help defray the costs of tuition for those who cannot afford to pay, said Cliff Sorensen, board secretary of the Club.
Although it costs the Club $500 per year, per child, no child is ever turned away for their inability to pay.
