Hundreds turn out for luau fundraiser for Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada
The World’s Greatest Luau and Kids’ Auction was held Sunday at Mills Park in Carson City. The annual event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada and was attended by more than 800 people, including Mayor Bob Crowell, Carson City supervisors, attorneys, doctors, business leaders, political candidates and philanthropists.
The event featured a dedication and proclamation to rename the Pony Express Pavilion in the memory of Carson City Mayor Marv Teixeira, who died this summer. He was a supporter and helped get the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada off the ground.
