Millennium Bugs to Perform Sept. 7 at Silver Oak in Carson City
The Millennium Bugs, a five-piece combo affiliated with the Mile High Jazz Band, will perform on Friday, Sept. 7, 7:00 to 10 p.m., at Silver Oak Golf Club and Event Center, 1251 Country Club Drive, Carson City. Admission is free.
The musicians are Gil Linsley, trumpet; Dan Lancaster, sax, flute, clarinet; David Bugli, keyboard; Charles DiLaura, bass; and Neil Strocchio, drums. The group plays a variety of jazz styles for listening and dancing.
"You're likely to hear hard-hitting Dixieland, mellow Elllington tunes, a touch of Latin jazz, and other tunes from the 'great American Songbook'" said Bugli. "Each member is anaccomplished improviser, so each show is refreshingly spontaneous. Don't be surprised if you feel like dancing."
The Millennium Bugs performed recently at Lazy 5 Regional Park in Sparks for Washoe County's annual Summer Music Series and at the Coleman-Roberts House Park and Comma Coffee Courtyard for the Jazz & Beyond: Carson City Music Festival.
