The body of a woman was found Tuesday afternoon on the tennis court in Mills Park in Carson City. It doesn't appear to be suspicious at this time. The call came into dispatch at 4:27 p.m.
Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said there are no obvious signs of struggle.
“It looks like she simply laid down to sleep,” said Furlong. He did not know if she was a homeless woman, but noted that she had several belongings with her.
Initial reports to dispatch were that it was woman, possibly in her 40s. Furlong was unsure on the woman's age. Detectives were interviewing people in the park, with the coroner examining the body and investigators looking through what belongings were on the woman, including identification.
