Aces lose 5-2 after night of celebration
RENO- A night after celebration, the Aces looked to be suffering 'post-celebration' effects. They came out against the Fresno Grizzlies on Tuesday night lethargic but the game stayed close. The Aces' starter RHP Kevin Mulvey went 5 innings giving up 5 hits (one of those a homerun) 3 runs with 5 strikeouts and no walks allowed.
Reno's offense was flat against Fresno starter RHP Shane Loux who went 6.1 innings giving up 2 runs on 3 hits with 5 strikeouts on just one walk. The Aces offense could never get it going on Tuesday night as they went quietly in the 9th as Marc Kroon came in for the Grizzlies and shut the door on the Aces to give Fresno a 5-2 victory.
Still, with the loss for Reno, they are preparing for post-season play as they will play the Sacramento River Cats in the first round (Best of 5) at Aces Ballpark starting on September 7th. Playoff tickets are on sale on renoaces.com, by calling 334-4700, or by visiting the Reno Aces Box Office at Aces Ballpark.
