Physical Fitness - Quality of Life

Being physically fit gives you the ability to enjoy life. It's called "quality of life".

With so many new types of exercise available maybe it’s time to define quality of life and how you achieve it. When you work on physical fitness, you enhance the physiological capacity of your body. You increase the ability to stay with a task longer and increase the range and weight of the task. Your heart will beat slower with more blood behind each beat, and generate more oxygen to your muscles. Who cares? You should!

Better physical capability will give you an overall enthusiasm for life. Daily tasks will seem a bit more fun and the "down side of life" a little less important. And just maybe you’ll learn to laugh more.

When you exercise, your muscular strength improves, and muscular endurance extends for a longer duration. Your heart and lung systems deliver blood and oxygen more efficiently, and flexibility increases, which will give you an increased range of motion. So at least if you fall, you won't hurt yourself and maybe you'll look graceful doing it. Your whole body becomes a much more efficient and a better equipped mass. More muscles, stronger bones and a lot less fat! You'll love yourself when you look in the mirror. And, if you don't, at least you'll care less what others think since mentally you’ll feel so much better.
Increasing muscle mass in the arms and abdominal areas will help you look better in that swimsuit whether you’re male or female. Ask any one which two body areas need the most work and they always pick abdominals and arms. Stand up and bend your legs slightly, suck in your abdominal muscles and pull up straight, push your abdominals out and in. Fifty of these will tell you that you have worked those sagging abdominals. Arms that jiggle need work every day by using a force against a force such as floor or wall pushups; or the use of hand held weights.

Being physically fit means increasing your quality of life, the whole you, mental and physical. Think about the good results of exercise. Never let any negative thoughts cross your mind when you workout and you'll be surprised what fun it can be. If you need an incentive here's one. A recent study on fitness shows that if you have exercised consistently until the age of 80, your body will look 50. I plan on waiting around to find out.
