Law enforcement operations in Carson City lead to arrests
The Nevada Department of Investigations with the assistance of the Carson City Sheriff's Office took four people into custody Wednesday after a surveillance operation in 400 block of Corbett Street in which several people fled a residence, law enforcement officials at the scene said.
Of the four in custody, one man suffered minor injuries after he attempted to flee the scene on a motorcycle, officers said, and collided with an unmarked patrol vehicle. The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
According to officers at the scene, the suspect reportedly spotted law enforcement surveillance in the area, prompting him to flee. Another person in a rental truck drove by and hit a police car. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine.
At least one person who fled the scene was suspected to have drugs in their vehicle and a canine unit alerted to drugs. Another person who fled the scene was detained after being found on Marie Drive.
The renter of the property in question allowed officers inside to look for people. However, the renter refused a search of the residence, officers said, and law enforcement was awaiting a warrant to search the house.
